J-Plasma can be done without liposuction, though most of the time it is combined with lipo. Some surgeons will still do a small amount of liposuction to make it easier to pass the J-plasma device, even if there is very little fat.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you look like a good candidate for Renuvion without liposuction. The same tumescent techniques are used as for liposuction. My entrance points are the BB, low in the groin and each areola. This will leave no obvious signs of surgery. Looking at your chest, it seems that you do have some gynecomastia ( this needs to be evaluated during a physical examination) and this should be treated as well.

Liposuction is a wonderful procedure. It not only has the ability debulk soft tissue, but truly highlight a persons underlying abdominal wall musculature.
Regarding your recent liposuction, patients will have varying degrees of skin contraction post-operatively. This in part depends upon how much fat is removed, a persons age, the type of liposuction performed, etc... Some liposuction platforms have the ability to enhance skin tightening via the use of various energy devices.
By about 6 months post-liposuction the majority of a patient's skin tightening will have occurred. My suggestion would be to wait 6 months post-procedure before considering additional surgery. At that time if you do not notice an improvement in your skin laxity, Renuvion may very well be an ideal option. It even has the dramatic ability to produce noticeable skin tightening during the procedure. Even more significant skin tightening will occur months out as the device stimulates collagen production.

Yes, you can have Renuvion without liposuction. I would suggest waiting until you are 6 months from surgery and all your swelling is gone. You also might get benefit with micro-needling with radiofrequency which is noninvasive with no downtime. It is multiple treatments done monthly.

Thank you for your question. To start, yes, Renuvion can be done without liposuction! Renuvion is an excellent skin-tightening treatment that can treat moderate to low skin laxity. In your case, Renuvion can be done after liposuction if you don't have too much scar tissue. Vaser might be indicated for revision liposuction in some cases to allow the Renuvion probe to work properly. So a consultation would be necessary to determine what is best for you.

You can absolutely have a Renuvion procedure post previous liposuction. The procedure will be similar in that the provider will need to dissect the tissue in order to make tunnels for the Renuvion energy to have space to contract the tissue. The efficacy should not be compromised as you have already had liposuction. Renuvion works great with liposuction or as a stand-alone procedure for the right patient. I purchased the J plasma aka Renuvion device early after its release for cosmetic purposes. The device was initially designed to treat endometriosis and has been in existence for many years for that purpose and is still used to treat endometriosis.
It’s reinvention for cosmetic surgical purposes has been a gamble for the company Bovie that initially owned the patent and made the device.
My practice has been focused exclusively on liposuction and fat transfer procedures for over 12 years. I’ve been a board-certified plastic surgeon for 22 years. I wanted to be able to deliver the highest quality care including some form of skin tightening for patients who had moderate skin laxity.
I used to device for one full year and when reviewing before and after pictures and asking patients to give feedback there was no objective or subjective difference between liposuction alone or liposuction with Renuvion. this included actual skin measurements between incision lines or moles were accurate skin tightening could be objectively measured. it also included reviewing lots of before and after pictures where no difference could be seen by multiple observers.
After one year of using the device my conclusion was there was no visible subjective or objective improvements at all using this device.
The device generated increased pain during and after surgery and was associated with certain complications though in my hands I had no complications using the device.
In my personal opinion the device failed miserably at delivering anything the company claims.
The doctors who initially promoted its use include doctors doing liposuction who are not trained in plastic surgery and are inherently manipulative and self-serving.
Don’t buy the hype.
I completely regret having ever purchased a device and took a major financial hit selling it a year later.
My best recommendation for you is to save your money and skip having a potentially painful operation that is more likely to make things worse than better.
Using the device without liposuction makes it an even worse proposition.
Doing unnecessary liposuction for the purpose of being able to use Renuvion is not a good proposition either.
Your skin laxity isn’t that bad. Stay fit exercise watch your diet and stop looking in the mirror and instead focus your gaze on what to conquer and mount.
