Hi, based on your photo it looks like you may have already had a tummy tuck, or at least a mini tummy tuck. Since you already have the scar, you can always have more skin removed without a new scar. Most of your skin laxity seems to be above your belly button, so a more tradition tummy tuck skin resection would be the most definitive treatment. If you didn't want to go through with that, having renuvion done will certainly help with the skin laxity. It takes a few months to really see the results, however.
Based on the one photo I think you are a good candidate for 360 lipo with Renuvion for skin tightening. A tummy tuck is also an option, but I believe you would be happy with a less invasive procedure. Find a good surgeon in your area who is experience with both. Good luck!
Based on your picture, you will get some benefit to the irregularities of your abdomen with Renuvion J Plasma and liposuction. While it is hard to say without an in person consultation, your upper abdomen demonstrates moderate skin redundancy and thus you may be a better candidate for a reverse tummy tuck where the scars are concealed below your inframammary folds (below breast). An in person or virtual consultation with a Renuvion specialist will provide you an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Brandon Richland, MD
Hi Mommydaycare, Renuvion with lipo is a great option if your core muscles are strong. I can’t tell if you will be flat from the front view alone. (When you take a deep inhale and exhale if you have a significant decrease/increase in projection, then a tuck with muscle tightening is indicated). When you pinch your abdomen, the thickness should be more than an inch for liposuction to be done. Best wishes on a great outcome, Dr. Doolabh
Good afternoon "Mommydaycare".I hope this message finds you well and thank you for your question. When discussing abdominal contouring there are multiple factors to consider. To keep things simple we will discuss three layers to a persons abdomen. The patient's skin, soft tissue and also his/her/their muscle layer. In a traditional tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) some patients require tightening of their abdominal wall muscles due to laxity that has developed over time. This can be due to fluctuations in a person's weight, pregnancy etc. By tightening this layer it can drastically enhance a person's contouring. Furthermore, the addition of liposuction in select patients can address any excess soft tissue but also optimize light reflection and shadowing to highlight a persons abdominal muscles. Much like draping fabric over a bodice, removal of any excess skin is key in accentuating the final result. All of this being said, Renuvion has the potential to address two of these layers. It has the ability to tighten skin via producing collagen and in addition it can be used as a tool to perform high definition liposculpting. This elevates traditional "debulking" liposuction to an even more impressive outcome. Renuvion with liposuction may very well address your concerns and produce the outcome you are looking to achieve. To provide a definitive answer regarding your question and address surgical planning my suggestion would be to schedule an in person consultation at your convenience. This would not only allow your surgeon to address your need for abdominal muscle tightening ("muscle plication") via a physical exam but also allow a unique surgical plan to be formed to help you achieve all of your aesthetic goals. Thank you again for your question and the opportunity to engage with you.Respectfully,Dr. Chris Hamamdjian
You should do well with liposuction to remove the excess fat and Renuvion can help give a little more skin tightening. Liposuction alone may work well for you.
Thank you for sharing your question! Yes, you are a candidate for liposuction & Renuvion. Achieving a flat abdomen will depend on different factors, such as if you have diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscle), your skin laxity, and how much excess fat you have. Based on the picture, you can achieve a flatter stomach. But a consultation would be necessary to determine your expectations and possible outcome
Based on your picture you’ve already had at least a mini tummy tuck.Based on that it makes far more sense to have a full tummy tuck than Liposuction with Renuvion. My first hand experience using Renuvion for over a year did not show any evidence of skin tightening by subjective or objective measures by myself or any of my patients I treated. Not a single patient felt they received skin tightening from the treatment.I have since sold the device and I wish I never purchased it.In the end the choice of procedures should be based on an assessment understanding what the underlying problem is combined with a clear understanding of what you’re trying to achieve and what you’re willing to go through.Pregnancy related changes are best treated with a full tummy tuck.People tend to be apprehensive about the scar, potential unnatural looking belly button and the recovery.Since you already have the incision it’s only adding a scar around your belly button and the recovery standing on the way from getting the ideal outcome.Liposuction with Renuvion is not a substitute for a tummy tuck. One procedure treats a skin laxity and muscle separation the other procedure reduces subcutaneous fat.If your only issue is excess subcutaneous fat then Liposuction is appropriate. There are four variables to determine with someone stab them in looks like. They are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies and lastly excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat.The procedure should be based on which one of those variables is causing your abdomen to look less than perfect.Pregnancies do not cause a change in fat distribution. Previous pregnancies cause skin laxity and muscle separation. To get a pre-pregnancy abdomen you should address skin and muscle separation. If you just want to reduce the overall size of your mid torso the liposuction can do that.Based on the information presented I think most plastic surgeons will tell you a full tummy tuck is a better option.I stayed that speaking as a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes exclusively in liposuction and fat transfer procedures only.I no longer perform tummy tucks and only do liposuction. You’re a better candidate for a tummy tuck even if you don’t want to have one.Liposuction it’s a better procedure to contour your love handles waist back and under arm area.If you’re sad I’m doing Liposuction then I suggest being very selective about choosing providers. There’s a significant difference in outcome from Liposuction between different providersTo get a quality assessment, figure out what’s the right provider and to find the right surgeon I suggest having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community.During each consultation ask each provider to give the recommendations. You should then ask them to open up your portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures for the procedures they recommend.Being shown a handful of preselected images representing their best work is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. For a reference and experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets I’ll before and after pictures for commonly performed procedures like abdominal liposuction or a tummy tuck.Ask providers to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and outcomes that didn’t turn out as well as they had hoped for.We all have a variety of outcomes and it’s fair game for patients to ask to see them.Ask specifically for providers to show you pictures of previous patients were very similar body characteristics to your own. There’s no point in seeing results of patients who were ideal candidate for a certain procedure if you’re not an ideal candidate.Bring pictures of your own body print it out as a reference to make sure you’re being shown examples of previous patient who had similar body characteristics to your own.Look specifically at body contour, amount of body fat, degree of skin laxity etc. etc.For Liposuction review carefully all areas treated to make sure there are no skin contour irregularities anywhere. You need to be very clear about exactly what areas are going to be included with Liposuction and what areas will not be included. For Liposuction results look very carefully at transition zone between treated and on treated areas. ask the surgeon to point out exactly what areas were treated and what areas were not treated. For a tummy tuck Judge results primarily based on who gets the most natural looking belly buttons with a very low sat score at that follows anatomic contours naturally and evenly on both sides. For a tummy tuck Judge results primarily based on who gets the most natural looking belly buttons with a very low sat score at that follows anatomic contours naturally and evenly on both sides. The entire torso should look natural balanced attractive and appropriate from all angles including from behind. When doing liposuction I typically treat the torso as a single anatomic unit treating the entire torso. by treating the entire tour so patients are left with a thin even natural fat distribution without transition zones between treated and untreated areas.A full torso typically includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, full back and under arm areas all the way to the side of the breast. There’s no set number of consultations needed to find the best provider. A lot has to do with how well patience prescreen providers by reviewing information online. In the end my suggestion is patients scheduled a minimum of five in person consultations before committing to have surgery and consider scheduling many more if needed. You should feel very comfortable that you selected the best and most appropriate plastic surgeon for your needs.Well endowed slow down and schedule more consultations. In the end find the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
