Thanks for your question. The price for a mommy makeover can vary considerably depending on the exact tummy tuck procedure, type of implants inserted, etc. I think that $12,000 would be within the usual range.
Every patient is different, therefore every procedure is different. Depending on where you are and how much work there is to be done, the cost for a mommy makeover can be anywhere from $10,000 to in excess of $30,000. For an accurate assessment, an in-person consultation with your surgeon is recommended. This will allow you to first determine the steps and procedures required to meet your goals and to properly plan the roadmap. There are numerous financing options available, whether it be CareCredit or in-house financing at some practices. It is all about designing the perfect plan for You.Good luck, please let us know how it goes.- Dr. Constantino Mendieta
If you're breast augmentation is straightforward as well as the abdominoplasty $12,000 is a bit pricey but not outrageous.
Thank you for your question. Your best option is to find 3 board certified plastic surgeons and schedule consultations to obtain an idea of different costs. 12,000 is relatively low for the nature of the procedures. Best,
That price seems a little low for Canadian standards, since breast augmentation alone is generally $7600 to $8600. If you're getting a mini tummy tuck, the price might be reasonable. However, more importantly, do you trust your surgeon? Do you have confidence that he or she understands your goals and has the experience to give you the results you want safely?
Thanks for your question. It's impossible to say if 12,000 is realistic to spend on the mommy makeover as this completely depends on many factors -- the type of implants you're choosing (silicone gel, saline or 410 shaped), is your tummy tuck a full tuck or mini? Will it include liposuction as well? Will you be spending the night in a recovery facility or hospital? In general we say the mommy makeover can cost anywhere from 10 -- 25,000 depending on your starting point and your aesthetic goals. Best to you. -Dr. Coan.
The cost of this procedure is a bit on the lower side, even when correcting for your region of the country. I typically recommend that my patients seek at least three consultations, if they have any uneasiness about committing to me for surgery, if I'm the only one they've seen. It's important that you find a surgeon that can meet your expectations and that you are comfortable with. A few thousands dollars cheaper now, if that's your main criteria, can results in thousands of more dollars later, if you don't get the result that you are looking for!
Thanks for the question. The costs of surgery you mention is realistic; it may actually be on the low end in many areas. When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider, type of breast implants… are some of the potential variables involved. You will find some average costs of surgery on this website and on individual plastic surgeons' websites as well.In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to SEE lots of examples of their work AND preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to mommy makeover surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes.
Hello. The costs for Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty will vary depending on what region of the US you live in and the physician doing the surgery. The cost can usually be broken down in to the surgical fee, the operating room fee, and the anesthesia fee. As the OR and anesthesia often charge by the hour, these fees can vary depending on how long it takes to do the procedure. Someone very petite with no fat (just loose skin) will take less time than someone larger. Total costs in the Bay Area probably range from under 10K to close to 15K or 20K. Depending on your insurance plan, repair of a hernia at the same time may be covered as well as some or all of the OR and anesthesia costs. This can vary widely. Select a plastic surgeon you are comfortable with who will take great care of you and has the talent to deliver the results you are looking for. Don't make price the deciding factor but take it into overall consideration. Good luck! Dean Vistnes.
Always best to run questions/concerns directly by your plastic surgeon who knows your situation best. Having said that, some drainage from around a drain side entrance into the skin is commonly encountered, especially when patients are more mobile. For example, this may occur when a patient gets...
Given that the skill of the surgeon in the level of care is the same the advantage of out-of-town surgery might be the price. The problem is that postoperative management is done at a distance in may be problematic. Nevertheless, many patients choose to have surgery away from home seeking the...
I would let your plastic surgeon and the anesthesiologist determine whether or not you're okay for surgery. You wouldn't want to compromise your health for something that is elective.
