I prefer to use a micro cannula and numbing cream to inject the lips to prevent bruising and discomfort. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results and concerns. I hope this helps.
Anytime you get a shot, you’re likely going to feel some stinging and burning. But some types of injections have lidocaine blended in with them, so your skin becomes numb as soon as the physician inserts the needle.Your other option is numbing your skin with an ice pack or having your technician apply topical numbing cream to ease your discomfort. Remember that any pain you do feel only lasts a few seconds, which is a small price to pay for beautifying your skin and looking younger.
Pain discomfort with the injection of Juvederm is usually very minimal. It usually is dependent on a person's pain tolerance level and since you stated that Botox was virtually painless to you, it is my belief you will be minimally uncomfortable. If you are concerned, you may ask for some topical anesthetic, which helps a bit with any pain.
In general, filler treatments today are well tolerated. A topical anesthetic cream is applied for 30-60 minutes prior to treatment to make the procedure more comfortable. A microcannula can be used to further minimize discomfort as well as swelling and bruising from the treatment. That being said, certains parts of the face are a little more uncomfortable when being treated such as the lips.
Certain areas of the face are more sensitive to filler treatment. Juvederm products are available with lidocaine mixed in to make the treatment more comfortable. The lips tend to be the most sensitive. In general patients find the administration tolerable and the results are worth it.
Thank you for your question. The pain level is all dependent upon your injectors technique and skill level. In our practice, we utilize a thin blunt needle called a microcannula when injecting Juvederm filler. This technique of injection will significantly reduce bruising and swelling, as well as increase patient comfort. We also apply a numbing agent prior to the injection in order to improve patient experience. It is not common to experience any pain post procedure. Thank you for your question, best of luck to you!
Thank you for your question. In general, fillers tend to be slightly more painful than Botox. This pain can be minimized by using topical numbing cream and a cannula. Ask your provider if they use these methods to enhance patient comfort.
It all depends on the method of injection. Using very small needles rather than the ones that come with filler will dramatically reduce any discomfort, bleeding and bruising. Gentle use of small cannula will further reduce any discomfort. In general, painful injections and bruising should be very rare these days. Good luck!
Dermal filler injections are very well tolerated and can cause mild to moderate pain depending upon which area is being filled. For most patients we apply a topical numbing cream for 15 minutes prior to injection. Lips are more sensitive and some patients require numbing injections prior to the filler injections. Many of my patients require no numbing prior to their injections. It is un-common to have pain after the injection.
