Bruising appears worse 4 days after Juvederm lip injections, should I be concerned? (photos)

Yes, bruising can be typical and it will resolve in 1-2 weeks. Icing and arnica can help. If you remain concerned, I would follow up with your injector. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing results. Hope this helps

Hi Smarie2712! After 4 days the bruising you are experiencing is a normal part of the healing process. Applying Arnica and ice is great, you can also take Arnica pills that will be more beneficial than the cream or gel topically. Give it up to a full 2 weeks for everything to come down and settle.

Bruising/swelling can be present for up to 2 weeks following injections. This is normal and will go away. Your final results will be at 2 weeks after injections. If you are unhappy with injections at that point, or if you are experiencing extreme pain, numbness of the lip, or blanching of the lip, follow up with your injector immediately. Bruising and swelling is completely normal and to be expected post procedure. Give yourself 2 weeks to allow the bruising / swelling to subside. Arnica and icing will definitely help. Bruising and swelling can occur following lip injections and last even up to 2 weeks.  Your lips will eventually go back to normal in time. If the bruising is exteme and looks spread out it may be s result of blood occlusion from accidental injection into a blood vessel it it could be a herpes breakout if you are prone to those. If it's the case if blood occlusion you may need to have the Juvederm filler dissolved with injecting a material called hyaluronidase. Otherwise there's not much you can do to get the material out sooner. I'm attaching a video of lip injections to help you see how this procedure is performed.

Bruising unfortunately can be a complication after lip filler use. Fortunately it is very minor. Just put some warm compresses on your lips for about 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. The bruising will subside after several days.
