Hi Dodger Fan,If anything, injection of Voluma in the lateral cheek may block a salivary duct which would lead to decreased salivation and swelling of the involved salivary gland. I have never seen this occur in any of our patients. You should discuss your increased salivation with your injecting physician, hopefully by now it has resolved. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
Soft tissue fillers like voluma, like any other fillers are associated with side effects. Excess salivation after soft tissue fillers is not a common or know side effects.Patients with excessive salvation shortly after soft tissue filler injections should get an evaluation with the practitioner that performed the injection or at least the PCP to determine possible cause
