I’ve had liposuction on my saddlebags which where very prominent before. I am left with what appears to be loose skin and still quite a bit of fat on the right side. If we try and remove more fat will this loose worse and sag more? I’m open to suggestions!!
Answer: Liposuction results Dear noonoo127, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Outer thigh a secondary liposuction I don’t thigh Liposuction works well especially on they are yeah that is true lateral. lateral is the term meaning to decide. anterior means to the front and posterior means towards the back. This is just how we communicate body orientation in medical lingo. If the problem is true lateral the liposuction works very well for outer thighs. The more the problem becomes posterior lateral the less effective liposuction becomes because the problem is skin bulging in an upright standing position. Everybody understands that we get a skinfold on the lower abdomen in a sitting position. That makes perfect sense since we’re flexing the torso. On the back of the thighs the skin is under tension when the hips are flexed just like on the abdomen it’s when you’re standing up straight. this means in an upright standing position the skin on the back of the thigh is being pushed into the buttocks and this creates a skin bulge just like the lower abdomen does when you’re sitting. this skin bulge looks and feels like fat to most people. It’s highly deceptive and plastic surgeons are fooled regularly thinking that Liposuction should improve the contour. There’s a reason that area didn’t improve any more than it did. Unless your first procedure was totally insufficient which I really doubt doing a secondary procedure is unlikely to improve your outcome. Most likely this is all skin laxity and removing more fat will leave you with the same. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. You need to find really talented and experienced plastic surgeons who have years of experience with hundreds of before and after pictures of this area to confirm that they know what they’re talking about if they tell you they can improve your outcome with a second procedure. Secondary liposuction or revision work is many times more difficult for both in terms of assessment and delivering results then primary procedures. Doing more of the same is unlikely to give much improvement. That is not to say it couldn’t but based on the information in my background which is 8000 liposuction procedures that’s my best guess.Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD
