Answer: Fat transfer, low thrombocytes. Will it be possible for me to get this surgery? Hello @Thoughtful546450, thank you for your question. Is important you consult with your hematologist, and follow his recommendations. Keep in mind that in many cases, surgical procedures can be performed, but to determine whether an intervention can be performed, an assessment appointment and a medical examination are required. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Surgery A fat transfer is still surgery and good clotting is needed. You might be able to get a platelet transfer just before the fat grafting. I would discuss this first with your hematologist.

Answer: Elective surgery with medical history I suggest your first speak with the medical doctors who are managing your conditions. It sounds like you’re most likely need clearance from a hematologist and a rheumatologist. And they need to consult with plastic surgeons in order to first and foremost to get an assessment in regards to your own candidacy for the procedure and see if they are comfortable moving forward. You’ll also need to do your own vetting process in regards to competence experience and scale for plastic surgeons. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction and fat transfer results it’s not as easy as people believe in this includes plastic surgeons. To do this correctly most likely means a substantial number of doctors visits. Do not cut corners and schedule a virtual consultations whenever possible. Instead have in person consultations to get the most accurate in-depth and thorough information to make solid medical decisions. During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures and make absolutely sure after pictures were taken at least three months from the date of surgery. An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures. Highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands. Asked to see a variety of outcomes including outcomes the surgeon was not happy with. Ask about revision rates, what their policy is in regards to revision and asked to see pictures of patients who ended up having a revisions and what they looked like. Breast fat transfer one done correctly can give a 1/2 cup increase in breast volume. The procedure does not have any impact on the shape of your breast and so if you were looking for a procedure that changes the shape of your breast and fat transfer is not the correct option. Many people are confused and think that fat transfer is like working with clay and that we can just mold any shape we want. That is not accurate and fat transfer is primarily a volume forming operation that only gives volume where you’re currently have tissue. Concerns like lack of volume in the upper half of the breast are not corrected well with fat transfer. All in all it’s time consuming and will require meeting with multiple doctors. if doctors know you well from the medical conditions they may give you a clearance via writing or email. It’s a multi step process and I suggest you get begin on the medical side. If you haven’t spoken to anyone that start with your primary care doctor. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
