Can anyone tell me a price range of lipoma surgery at hospital by a general surgeon? Lipoma is on scalp

The general surgeon only does procedure at hospital and I have a lipoma midline region of scalp in the back. I have my first appointment with him but I would like to know the price range of the procedure done at hospital. I have insurance but I need to meet my deductible and I have to decide if to wait or just get it over with. Thanks

Thank you for your excellent question.  Unfortunately lipomas are not absorbed by the body, and tend to grow slowly with time.  They can occasionally cause pain, but if you have a mass at the wrist/hand level it would be important to first rule out a ganglion cyst which is the most...

Never heard of this. If the lipoma is subcutaneous and is pressing on a nerve, it can be removed. It is not actually in the nerve or part of the nerve fiber. There are Schwannomsas that do involve the nerve itself. Sounds like this is not that. So going to a good plastic surgeon, hand surgeon,...

Thanks for your question.  As you may be aware, lipomas are benign fatty soft tissue tumors.  As they do not interfere with joints, muscles, or bone, they should have no influence on function or activity.  Enjoy the gym and good luck with your fitness regimen!
