They can occasionally cause pain, but if you have a mass at the wrist/hand level it would be important to first rule out a ganglion cyst which is the most common mass of the hand, and tends to be characteristically painful. Never heard of this. If the lipoma is subcutaneous and is pressing on a nerve, it can be removed. It is not actually in the nerve or part of the nerve fiber. There are Schwannomsas that do involve the nerve itself. Sounds like this is not that. So going to a good plastic surgeon, hand surgeon,...
