I noticed this on many of my pictures. Why do I have a visible nose bump on the right side of my face but not on the left side? I can breathe fine but I was wondering if I had a deviated septum? I have received bumps throughout the years that resulted in a few nosebleeds ( I'm 22 ) but I've never fractured my nose. How easy can a septum deviate? And if it is what can be done to fix it?
Answer: Closed rhinoplasty, some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us.In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Nose bump and deviated septum? In order to answer your questions most accurately- it will require a physical exam by a Board Certified PS with extensive experience in Rhinoplasty. From your photos- it appears that you would benefit from Rhinoplasty through closed technique in order to address all elements of your nose. Good luck!

Answer: Septorhinoplasty Thank you for your pictures! Based on what you are detailing, we would need a good physical exam to determine whether or not your septum is deviated, or more likely in your case, dislocated. No issues breathing is a very good thing! That means that we know that in the case of a minor deviation or dislocation, at least it is not causing obstructive problems. As far as "the bump" is concerned, that is partly due to bone, partly due to cartilage. Often times, as we are growing up and our bones and cartilages are immature, small trauma can mold the bone and cartilage in particular ways such that later on in life we see these irregularities. It's very common in patients who present with similar complaints who've had active lifestyles when they were younger - such as played softball/baseball, soccer, cheerleading, etc. In order to address the bump you would have to address the issues - and that involves rasping and polishing the bone down, as well as possibly making some precise cuts in the bone to mold it back to where we want it to be. If your septum was dislocated, we would address that at the same time. Downtime is about 7 days - you just feel like you have a stuffy nose, like a bad head cold. Otherwise recovery is pretty straight forward. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Answer: Septorhinoplasty Hi thanks for your enquiry. From your pic you do need rasping of your dorsal hump and tip refinement .It has to be done in proportion to hormonise with rest of your facial features. As you have mentioned about epistaxis you do need a detailed intra nasal endoscopic examination and CT imaging. This will document septal deviation or any sinus outflow obstruction or turbinate hypertrophy if present can be addressed.Hence functional and aesthetic correction can be done in the same sitting to get optimal improvement. Please do consult a board certified plastic surgeon and be realistic with your expectation and plan your surgery .

Answer: Nose bump and deviated septum? A deviated septum can only be diagnosed by looking at the internal portion of the nose. A septoplasty is performed for a deviated septum to improve blockage of airflow in the back of the nose. A septoplasty will not change the shape of the nose. A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish shaving down the asymmetrical dorsal hump and make the bridge line look symmetrical.
