I had an umbilical cord hernia & tummy tuck 4 years ago. I moved, by myself a large heavy piece of furniture. What are they key signs to look for? (Last time I look like the turkey was done, my belly button was poking out and I had a large stomach. HELP
Answer: Need examination Without photographs or an examination it would be impossible to determine what the problem is. It would e very important for you to see a plastic surgeon.

Answer: Heavy lifting unlikely to undo umbilical hernia repair after abdominoplasty. If the hernias recurred you will feel some soft tissue pushing forward under the skin near the navel. If you're worried have your surgeon check this. It would be very likely for this to recur however.

Answer: I moved a very large heavy piece of furniture, now I have pain. Could I have gotten my hernia back? Only in person examination allows this to be determined. Best to seek this examination for recurrent hernia....

Answer: I moved a very large heavy piece of furniture, now I have pain. Could I have gotten my hernia back? If you moved a heavy piece of furniture and then immediately experienced pain from doing it then yes, it is possible that your hernia re-herniated. I do not understand what you mean by "the turkey was done". Are you saying that after you moved the furniture that you noticed that your belly button was poking out and your stomach was large? If this is the case, then you need to go and see your General Surgeon or at least your Family Physician for a checkup. They will be able to evaluate you and determine if the hernia is back.If you are having pain that has lasted many hours or days and you feel a hard lump by your belly button this could indicate the hernia is "trapped" or incarcerated. Other symptoms could include nausea, vomiting, lack of gas, and no bowel movements. This is a very serious problem that could lead to dead intestines, so if this is happing go and see your doctor TODAY. I hope this helps.
