I had my lips done with restylane yesterday " the doc" put 2 cc on my upper lip bc he was trying to leave geometric i have ni pain but this is too much..im on ice all the time but i think this is not normal

Restylane is the one filler most associated with a "flash" swelling.  Your Physician should be able to call in a steroid dose pack, something I preemptively do for all Restylane patients.  However, 2 mL in the lips is a larger amount than I use for most patients.  If you seek to have volume in your lips, Juvederm is usually a better choice due to its hydrophilic nature.

Thank you for your question. It is common to have swelling after lip augmentation, which can take up 2 weeks to resolve. However, two syringes of Restylane is a high starting dose in the lips. You can ice the lips to help resolve any swelling. If after 2 weeks you are not happy with your results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. Please remember to follow up with your injector for evaluation. Best of Luck!

Thanks for your question.  We always expect swelling after filler injections, but there are a few variables which impact how much swelling you have:1. Cannula vs needle for injection:  cannulas tend to minimize swelling and reduce risk of bruising as well.2.  Product choice:  Restylane silk tends to swell more than other products (including regular regular Restylane)3.  volume of injections:  more volume injected will need to more prominent swelling4.  Personal history:  some people will consistently swell more than others.Here are some things you can do to minimize swelling, bruising and recovery:1. Take Arnica montana before and after your injection2.  Ice the treated area 10' every hour while awake 3.  Ask your surgeon about a steroids by mouth if you have a history of severe swelling4.  Eat some foods high in Vitamin K for a few days before your treatment5.  Avoid any blood thinners like aspirin, BC powders, etc for  10 days before your treatment.Best wishes!  MKB

Swelling always occurs with lip injection and usually subsides after a few days. Ice helps and some light massage.  2 syringes is a lot in the upper lip so if the swelling is there after a week check with your doctor

Thank you for your question and for submitting your photos.  The lips are a sensitive area, and are particularly prone to swelling and bruising that can last up to 2 weeks after filler injections.  Two syringes of Restylane is a relatively high starting dose in the lips, and your swelling does not seem abnormal considering the amount of filler you received. 
For now, I would recommend gently applying ice or cool compresses to your lips, as this may help the swelling resolve sooner.  If you are still concerned about the appearance of your lips in a 2 weeks, it would be worthwhile to follow-up with your injector to discuss your concerns.  Best of luck!

Yes, this is an appropriate amount of swelling after 2 cc of filler. Continue using ice for a couple of days.If it persists  return to your injector to discuss options.

Thank you for your question.  The swelling looks normal for 24 hours post lips with 2 syringes of Restylane.  Continue cold compresses and if you do not see improvement please follow up with the board certified Dermatologist/PS who injected you for further evaluation and management.  If it continues to swell, you may consider oral steroids.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
