5 days post-op. When can I have coffee again?

I advise my patients that, if they desire, they can have coffee the same evening as their breast augmentation surgery. None of my 6500 patients, over 25 years, have reported any ill effects. Hope this information is helpful and reassuring.Dr. Ted EisenbergBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Congratulations on your recent surgery.  As for coffee after surgery, I would allow my patients to have coffee when they felt like it.  You should always check with your Plastic Surgeon as each has different post operative protocols.  Good luck .

There is no reason you can't enjoy cup of coffee 5 days following surgery.  Check with your own plastic surgeon as to their guidelines, but this is not a common restriction.  Best of luck with your recovery. 

Each surgone has their own post operative protocols. Although I do not see any contridications with having coffee at this point I recommend checking with your surgeon. Regards

I would suggest for you to discuss your questions or concerns with your plastic surgeon. They will have the best understanding of your medical history and will be able to give you the best advice for your circumstances.

I generally do not restrict coffee/tea or caffeine in the peri-operative period. I am not aware of any link between caffeine and the potential for bleeding complications. However, it is best to discuss this with your surgeon (as recommendations will vary).As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Thank you for your question.  Although post operative requirements do vary from one plastic surgeon to another, my advice is to avoid Asprin and ibuprophen products for a full two weeks post surgery.  I do not restrict the consumption of coffee.  Best of luck.

I do not impose any restrictions on diet or supplements after breast augmentation. I usually recommend to my patients they should return to their normal lifestyle as soon as possible.
