I had a breast augmentation 5 days ago and have abstained from coffee since I read caffeine can contribute to blood thinning. When would it be safe to start having a cup in the mornings again? I had some drainage my first two days on one breast but it was due to my pain pump catheter which has been removed and since stopped. I'm trying to do everything to avoid a capsular contracture.

Answer: Coffee After Surgery Thanks for your question! Every plastic surgeon has their own postoperative protocol, which they recommend for their patients to follow. I would suggest for you to discuss your questions or concerns with your plastic surgeon. They will have the best understanding of your medical history and will be able to give you the best advice for your circumstances.
