Am I a candidate for chin liposuction? (photos)

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

The characteristics of your neck and face suggest that there is essentially a genetic element to the control of the neck. The superficial layer of fatty tissue in the neck typically correlates with the general weight someone can assume there is relatively little to work with. Overdoing the liposuction are trying to get a better result unfortunately leads to contour irregularities as the fatty tissue under the neck skin is relevant for the smoothness of the contours.

The deep plane neck lift intervention is designed to remove some of the excess volume situated deep to the platysma muscles in the neck and preserve enough of the superficial layer of fatty tissue under the skin to allow for an elegant contour. It is also designed to improve the control of the jawline when the problem along the jawline is mild, like in your case.

A combination approach would give the most improvement. Nonsurgical options such as Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, and Ultherapy do well in combination for skin tightening, but the results are mild compared to surgical options.

I would recommend a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma) and InMode BodyTite to contour and tighten the chin and neck. A neck lift can be performed at the same time, if you're a good candidate. I suggest seeing a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist to develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. Just based on your photos, there does not appear to be excess fat of the under-chin area. In order to give you an accurate evaluation, you should be seen in person in consultation. Nonetheless, just based on your pictures which I have carefully studied, I see that you are beginning to show the slightest bit of jowl formation along the jaw. This, and the angle of your neck, indicates that you might be a good candidate for a neck lift. (If a patient is in need of a neck lift, and liposuction is performed instead, it can make the situation worse and make the skin hang even more.) Due to your age and the angle of your neck skin, I do not think that something minimally invasive would produce the result you desire. You could try microneedling with RF to help increase collagen and elastin and tighten the skin with no incisions and minimal downtime, and you could try threading, but I believe neck-lifting surgery would produce the most pleasing result. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and expectations and to see which procedure is right for you.

The Side profile photographs demonstrate a Recessive chin profile and fat deposits in the neck. Consider liposuction to remove the fat deposits in the neck which can improve your jawline. Consider placement of a small chin implant that Will allow for better facial balance and proportions from the side profile

Based on your pictures it doesn’t look like you have much fat to be removed from your chin and neck.

The contour of this area is directly related to facial bone structure. In particular patients who have an undersized mandible compared to their maxilla.

This type of facial skeletal structure often goes hand-in-hand with having a dental overbite and an upper lip that has more forward projection than the lower lip on profile pictures.

At the same time your chin is pointed and augmenting the chin well deepen the labiomental angle.

A sliding genioplasty with vertical lengthening and conservative forward projection may work well.

A neck lift may also be a realistic option.

I don’t think Liposuction is going to do much because you don’t have much fat to remove.
