Hi! I weigh 49 kg and height is 158 cm so i am a little skinny. But my jawline is not defined and i am not sure if it is due to fat deposits or just my facial structure. Does this qualify for a lipo? And is it safe for my BMI? Thank you.

Answer: Chin liposuction Dear milku12, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photo, it looks like you would be a good candidate for chin liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Skinny patient getting a Liposuction The fact that you have a low BMI should indicate that fat is not a problem for how you look. The lower 1/3 of your face looks the way it does because of bone structure. Your mandible is somewhat small and lacks projection compared to your maxilla. This causes the underlying platysma muscle to drape the neck in a more oblique fashion. You are a far better candidate for addressing the primary problem which is facial skeletal structure than manipulating soft tissues. Liposuction will have very little impact because there isn’t much fat to remove. Liposuction also doesn’t address the primary problem. Schedule consultations for local board-certified plastic surgeons or oral surgeons in your community. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
