Can this indent on my buttock be fixed with fat transfer? (Photo)

Question

If so, what would be the recovery time? I never had any type of weird injections aside from B-shot injections (hopefully they were) many years ago. Also, this indent appeared after I had lost weight. Could that have been the cause?

fat transfer can help this, but cellulite/indents often need needle subcision/cellfina, sculptra and/or fillers even after the fat transfer.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Fat grafting can fill in that area.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

To answer your question, yes, this can be corrected with fat transfer or filler to the area. The recovery time for something like this is very minor. You may experience minor swelling or bruising but it should not keep you from your regular activities. Also, cellfina is a procedure that can be done to cut the fibers pulling in that skin causing this indentation.

This is a good question.  Fat transfer came about from fixing indentations from Liposuction surgery.  It is a great procedure for these types of problems.  For the longest time, there was no solution to this type of problem.  Since your problem is an indentation, the best way to solve this is with Fat Transfer.  There is no etiology or reason why this may have occurred on your buttock.  But now since you have an indentation, it needs to be filled.  I have solved many problems similar to this and you should do very well.  I hope this helps.

Yes, fat transfer should help that area. After the procedure you need to stay off of it for some time for the best possible "take".

there are easier ways to do it if you fit certain criteria. You need to be seen in person. Thus may be doable by needle release.
