I have seen this mentioned and wondering what is the difference
Answer: Fat grafting first of all I am no fan of fat grafting. It is overused, oversold, and overhyped. The attachment of fancy names like nano or micro make it sound more precise and scientific. I have rarely seen fat injection in any of its iterations make a difference that was at all worthwhile but I’ve seen lots of lumps and bumps and unhappy patients. I would certainly not spend a lot of money on it.

Answer: Fat Transfer Facial Facts--Water-assisted harvesting They are all different names for techniques that fat from one area of the body, purify the fat, and then inject it back into another area of the body that needs a little smoothing or augmentation. Not all fat survives with fat transfer so technique is important. I used a gentle water-assisted harvesting that gets the most viable fat to transfer and survive. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a body shaping expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Macro, Micro, Nano Thank you for your question. Macro fat refers to the larger fat particles that are injected with large volume fat transfer (such as buttocks and breast) this type of fat is typically not blended down. Micro fat is smaller fat particles that are usually injected into the face (this is to prevent lumps and bumps following the procedure). Nano fat refers to fat that has essentially been turned into liquid. This type of fat is not used to provide volume but rather to improve skin texture and tone. In our practice we use this type of fat to help smoothest the lip lines, the crows feet and the tear trough. Best of luck!
