first of all I am no fan of fat grafting. It is overused, oversold, and overhyped. The attachment of fancy names like nano or micro make it sound more precise and scientific. I have rarely seen fat injection in any of its iterations make a difference that was at all worthwhile but I’ve seen lots of lumps and bumps and unhappy patients. I would certainly not spend a lot of money on it.
They are all different names for techniques that fat from one area of the body, purify the fat, and then inject it back into another area of the body that needs a little smoothing or augmentation. Not all fat survives with fat transfer so technique is important. I used a gentle water-assisted harvesting that gets the most viable fat to transfer and survive. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a body shaping expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. Macro fat refers to the larger fat particles that are injected with large volume fat transfer (such as buttocks and breast) this type of fat is typically not blended down. Micro fat is smaller fat particles that are usually injected into the face (this is to prevent lumps and bumps following the procedure). Nano fat refers to fat that has essentially been turned into liquid. This type of fat is not used to provide volume but rather to improve skin texture and tone. In our practice we use this type of fat to help smoothest the lip lines, the crows feet and the tear trough. Best of luck!
They are all just names. Lipo is lipo it also depends upon what instruments are being used. Good luck..
Depending on your age and how much you really need filling, fat can be a good alternative to fillers. It is permanent, but only a percentage 60-80%, may take, so it may need to be repeated.Since you are relatively young, you should discuss with your plastic surgeon what are your main concerns....
You are right in what you suggest, however, a picture and an examination would be most helpful to decide whether you are a great candidate for this procedure or not. I like to use PRP combined with CO2 laser skin resurfacing to help the thin skin and consider fat transfer depending on how ...
You most likely have swelling after your procedure, which can last 3-6 months. I recommend prp and sculptra injections after fat transfer to help maintain results. It takes time to see the ultimate outcome. Acne scarring needs lasers, microneedling, fillers, and subcision for the best o...
