Does inner thigh liposuction make cellulite worse?

Hello, I am interested in inner thigh liposuction, but I hav quite a bit of cellulite on my legs and I've heard thigh liposuction can make it worse. Is that true?

Good news, bad news with regard to the answer to your question. Liposuction does not make cellulite worse, but it also does not improve the condition.
 It will remove stubborn fat from areas of concern and improve contour of your thighs, but your cellulite will still be there, but not worse. Sometimes skin does not retract as well as desired, however in most cases and overall improvement is achieved. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to explore the best options for you. Good luck.

Liposuction doesn’t treat cellulite directly, but when done properly it shouldn’t make it worse. The key is good skin elasticity and technique. If the skin is too loose, removing fat can make dimples more visible &mdash; in those cases, the best option is usually a Thigh Lift (Tight Lift) to remove excess skin and improve contour.

Hello, thank you for your question. There are several ways to address cellulite depending upon depth of cellulite, location, elasticity of overall skin envelope, and subcutaneous fat layer. Liposuction can be coupled with InMode RFAL for skin tightening. Cellulite can be improved, but will not be removed.

Liposuction will only remove fat and does leave excess skin.  Liposuction will not improve cellulite.  I would suggest combining liposuction with a skin tightening procedure such as BodyTite.   This combination would address both fullness and cellulite or skin excess.

Liposuction reshapes fat but does not correct cellulite, which is a skin and connective-tissue issue. In some cases it can even make dimpling more visible. Liposuctions main target is to eliminate fatty tissue in a designated area, like your inner thighs. Although lipo can be beneficial it can leave you the potential of undesirable side effects like dimpling or small pockets of fat which can actually worsen the appearance of your cellulite...however this isn't always the case as there are many variables that contribute to this. A skilled plastic surgeon would be able to tell you if you're a good candidate for lipo or possible a thigh lift as an alternative.

thigh liposuction can leave a patient with loose skin which worsens the appearance of everything including cellulite.  I use the Vaser to help tighten the skin with liposuction and also use the Emsculpt Neo to tighten the skin after surgery.

Well done liposuction should not worsen cellulite.  poorly done liposuction can create uneven contours that can look like the cellulite got worse.  fat transfer like the BBL can definitely make cellulite worse.

Inner thigh liposuction typically gives results that are less than what most patients had hoped for and this is especially true for those who have any type of skin laxity.

Be careful moving forward with inner thigh Liposuction. Have multiple in person consultations with highly experienced board-certified plastic surgeon who have a proven track record with this procedure.
