Thanks for your question. I usually recommend my patients wear their surgical bra for about 4 weeks, but they can remove it for several hours or when going out for events. I do not find that the bra has to be worn continuously to get good results. However, be sure to check with your own surgeon because they may have a different protocol that works well.
Thank you for your question. You will find a wide range of answers to this question. Best advice is to follow your surgeon's recommendations. Aside from that, it will often range from 3-6 weeks of wearing a surgical bra and no under-wire bras. I tell my patients 4 weeks, this allow the implants time to settle and for the capsule around the implant time to form.
Every surgeon has different post-op instructions for their patients after a breast augmentation. I have my patients wear their post-op surgical bra 24/7 for about three weeks following surgery. After three weeks, I allow patients to switch into underwire bras during the day and sports bras at night. I would recommend calling your surgeon's office for instructions specific to your surgery.
Depending on your surgeon they have different post-op care that they find works best for their patients. At my practice I have my patients wear the garment we provide for them for the first week. If they are healing appropriately after that period I do recommend that that they continue wearing a similar supportive bra for 6 weeks after surgery. If healing going well after the 6 weeks they are then able to wear any bra that they are comfortable with. Thanks and all the best.
Every surgeon has a different opinion of how long you should wear your surgical bra.I actually think the standard surgical bras are quite uncomfortable and a bit unnecessary. I generally recommend that my patients wear a nice, comfortable sports bra (preferably with a zipper in front) for about six weeks. At six weeks, I will allow the use of standard, underwire bra.It goes without saying that when seeking advice for breast augmentation, you use a surgeon that is certified by the American Board of plastic surgery. I wish you the best! Dr. Gabbay.
Every surgeon has their own post-op care instructions so it's best to ask your surgeon. I typically ask my patients to wear their sports bra 24/7 for 1 month after surgery. They can switch to a padded underwire bra during the day at around 2-3 weeks and continue to wear a sports bra at night to bed so you are pretty much wearing a bra 24/7 for a month. ac
This is a very interesting question, as my thoughts have changed recently with some new research. I used to have my patients wear the bra with the straps that went over the top of the breast for three weeks. Then the strap was still to be worn at night for another three weeks. There is some interesting work being done about not having the bra on postoperatively, so our position on this may change in the future. At this time, it is best to work with your surgeon and follow his or her recommendations because they know best the procedure that they did and how to maximize their best outcomes. Congratulations on your breast implants.
Each surgeon is a little different on what they prefer as to how long patients should wear the supportive bra after breast augmentation/implants. I recommend for my patients that they wear the supportive bra for 24/7 for the first 3 weeks and then just during the day for the next 3 weeks. The supportive bras are worn for a total of 6 weeks following surgery. You can always check with your surgeon to see what their recommendations are following breast implants.
is ideally addressed by your surgeon. My patients are braless until they feel their results are 'good enough' then they use bras (underwire is okay really) in non-functional ways until they feel they are perfect. At that point, they start cinching their straps up to support the breast and implant so it minimized the chances for further descent. Underwire sport bras are recommended when resuming activities.
Thank you for your question but I it would be best asked to your surgeon as each patient may be treated differentlyDr Corbin
Hi jessicam55417What you describe sounds like a serious infection that requires at the minimum serious antibiotics, a culture, and likely debridement. I say this with incomplete information and without benefit of examination. I base the conclusions on you history, and photos...
I would suggest to you that I do see the difference between the breasts in the pictures that you provided. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of you before the surgery to assess the amount of asymmetry in your breasts.(All breasts have asymmetry). Furthermore, at 11 weeks, you still have...
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
