Hi,The Horndeski Method/The Bellesoma Method is a current technique to lift and/or reduce breasts without using implants or the ugly vertical scars. The incisions are hidden around the areola and in the inframammary crease. The vertical incision has been completely eliminated. The areola incision heals almost invisibly due to the fact that there is hardly any tension on the closure. With this particular technique, ducts are preserved along with nerve supply maintaining nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed. Because the breast is reshaped internally and is secured to your chest muscles, upper pole fullness is possible without an implant. Attached is a patient who underwent The Horndeski Method/The Bellesoma Method. Please note that her tissue was used to create upper pole fullness and cleavage without any foreign materials (mesh, implants, etc). You will not need physical therapy after a breast reduction. You will not be able to raise your arms above your head, push, pull carry or lift anything over 10 lbs for 6 to 8 weeks. It is a proprietary technique that only surgeons that have been trained by me can perform. I hope this helps. Best wishes and kind regards, Dr. Gary Horndeski
Most healthy patients do very well after a breast reduction and do not need any PT. However, you will need to check with your surgeon to verify their postoperative protocol.
After a breast reduction most people need 10-14 days off work, help around the house for a couple weeks and 6 weeks for full recovery. In 20 years of practice I have never had a patient that required physical therapy. Good luck, Jane
No, physical therapy is not necessary after a breast reduction. Typically, the surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure meaning that you will go home after the surgery. Most women will be able to drive after 3-5 days, can return to work in a week, and can resume strenuous physical activity (like working out) after about 3 weeks. Good luck!
Physical therapy is not needed after breast reduction as you can move and lift right away after the procedure.
Hello and thanks for your question about physical therapyIt would be unusual to need physical therapy after breast reduction. Most women can move their arms without restrictions, and get back to normal activities within a few weeks after surgery. If there are underlying back, neck or shoulder problems, sometimes PT can be helpful for that.Best wishes-
It would be very unusual for your nipple to lose circulation 5 wks after a breast reduction. Especially since your two breasts have no bruising and look the same. I don't think the color change is anything to be worried about.
Now than what you originally posted. The Santyl can help but time and wound care will also take care of this so if its pricey, I would probably not push the issue and just go with basic wound care. You will heal so hope the final scar is a satisfactory one for you.
Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us. 2 weeks after Breast Reduction, it's not time enough to express a valid opinion of results. On the other hand, generally to avoid the normal p.o. swelling, I recommend to limit the arms movement for two weeks. Also it's not advisable to ca...
