Deep forehead lines are best treated with a combination approach with Botox and HA fillers such as Juvederm.
Forehead lines are caused by overactive muscles (corrugators) in the area. Often seen in people who worry or are more expressive. The line can be helped by weakening the muscles (botox, dysport) or by grafting the area with filler (temporary) or using dermis. Excising (cutting out) the depression and reclosing is a more definitive way of treating the area. Hope this helps.Dr. J
Relaxing the muscles in the forehead and glabella (between the eyebrows) is best accomplished by injection of a neurotoxin like Botox or Dysport.Additionally, filler can be helpful as an adjunct treatment. Hope this helps!
This is an easy fix with combination therapy of Botox or Dysport to calm the muscles down and a filler product such as Juvederm or Restylane. Be wary of inexperienced providers in this area! There are some very serious issues that can arise from fillers in this region. Look for Board Certified Plastic Surgeons, Facial Plastic Surgeons or Dermatologists with lots of experience using these products. Best Wishes!!
Hi,That line is formed by the frown muscles - the corrugators. These muscles pull the eyebrows together and down causing this vertical line. They are best treated with botox/dysport which relaxes the muscle. In your case, a soft filler may also be necessary to soften that deep crease. Injecting filler in this area takes expert knowledge of anatomy around the eye so I highly recommend seeing a plastic surgeon to address your concerns. All the best, Mehdi Sina, MD
Botox would be the best place to start. However, in some cases of deep imprinted lines, a small amount of dermal filler such as Juvederm might be required to flatten the furrow. Best.
The vertical line in your lower forehead comes from the activity of your corrugated muscles. A neurotoxin (such as Botox or Dysport) will soften the line and prevent it from getting worse. I doubt, however, that the fold will go away entirely. Further improvement can be achieved with fillers injected into the fold directly. As a last resort, excision of the fold can be considered. Consult a qualified plastic surgeon to discuss these various options. Best of luck!
This huge vertical line between your brows is referred to as a scowl line by plastic surgeons. It is due to the corrugator muscle and can be remedied temporarily through Botox injection. It can also be impacted on a lasting basis through a forehead lift which involves permanent weakening of the muscle that causes that deep crease. Either option is excellent for treatment of this very deep furrow.
I would start with Botox to reduce the movement that is causing the line and filler to fill the line to make it smoother. Botox typically lasts about 3-4 months and the duration of the filler varies depending what filler is used. I would recommend a formal consultation with a reputable board-certified provided.Best Wishes,Dr. Sadrian
Hello,You have a classic glabellar furrow. This is a crease in the skin caused by use of the scowl muscle. In advanced cases like yours, the correction is two pronged. First, you need to put the scowl muscle to rest. This is done with a botulinum product like Botox or Dysport. Treating every 3 to 5 months is needed to maintain that affect. The second thing that will be needed in your case is to use a hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane or Juvederm. Proper injection technique is very important in this area to both prevent complication and to actually fix the crease. The product must be placed superficial enough to avoid the blood vessels in the area. It also needs to be placed in a criss-cross fashion at multiple levels within the skin to generate the collagen growth needed to fix the crease. Once the crease is removed with the Restylane, ongoing maintenance with Dysport is needed to prevent recurrence. I can typically remove more than 90% of a crease like yours given 4 visits over a one year period.Best Regards,Dr. A

Pretrichial brow lift is a useful technique. It does not raise the hairline and in fact lowers it. See following video and website link. It also includes a link to my publication on this technique.
