What is this swelling? (Photo)

Question

I am 19 years old. Sedentary since graduation, I have fluctuating weight due to eating disorder and I have been fasting & trying to be a healthier weight and only consuming water. But I have noticed swelling in my malar pad area, is it festoons? Thyroid? It seems to be more prominent under my left eye. I have history of blood clots in my family and a mutant gene that thickens blood. I'm quite worried about this swelling, it uncomforts me seeing it. Will this diminish or worsen?

It is difficult to tell you the origin of the area that is concerning you since you have so many changes occurring with your weight and diet.  I encourage you to visit with your primary care physician, not only to discuss the area of concern beneath your eye, but also to discuss your struggles with eating and your weight.  Eating a balanced diet is important to your weight and overall health.  I encourage you to seek medical guidance.
