Which size of implants would best complement my petite frame? 5'1 and 105 lbs, (photos)

When it comes to breast augmentation, oftentimes your surgeon will allow you to "try on" different implant sizes prior to your procedure. They will have you place the implant within a bra, and then try on a tight fitting shirt to mimic the appearance of your breasts post-operatively. I recommend speaking with your plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns and for evaluation.

Hello, thank you for your question. Finding the perfect size to compliment your frame is not always the most straightforward. I would recommend talking to your plastic surgeon after taking measurements to see what is the range of sizes that best fit your chest wall. You try the rice bag test which is filling a bag with rice to the range you think either 375 or 445 and place them in a soft non padded bra. you can use a scale to measure the weight of the rice.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

I would suggest meeting with your surgeon and trying on both sizes so you can see and feel the weight of the implants. Personally, I think the smaller size will do much better, especially over the long term.

This is an individual choice. Using implant sizers will give you the best idea of how you might look. although both of those sizes seem reasonable. The larger the implant the more fullness and cleavage. You do need to add on top of the size you like because under the skin and muscle you will lose some of the size you choose.

Breast implant selection is best done in person as your surgeon will have the benefit of examining you, measuring the breasts, and speaking to you in detail about your surgical goals. In addition to implant volume, you also need to consider type, shape and profile. Based on the information provided the implants you are considering will likely increase you to a D cup or larger. Because of your petite frame I would recommend being mindful of selecting an implant that fits your body if you are wanting to keep a natural look.

If you are presently a D cup and are planning a breast augmentation with 375 or 440ml breast implants, you will NOT end up with a "D range" breast size. Expect to be double to triple D after that size increase, which may not fit with your petite frame. Good luck!
