How frequently does one need Restylane Defyne injections to treat deep wrinkles?

Restylane Defyne is a new hyaluronic acid filler that was specifically developed with XpresHAn Technology to deliver longer-lasting, more natural appearing results. In clinical studies, Defyne showed a meaningful improvement in wrinkle severity for up to 12 months in the majority of patients. 
Every patient is different. For my patients with more advanced signs of aging, I will often recommend a series of treatments to achieve meaningful initial results. I find that top-off treatments are required for the most durable results. The nature of your skin quality, skin care routine, other aesthetic treatment, the rate of your metabolism and other factors may also affect the duration of results. Additionally, a healthy lifestyle and effective skin care routine may help protect your results. 
It is also possible that another product may be best suited to your anatomy and goals. Sometimes deep wrinkles may be best corrected by a treatment plan that includes a combination of injectable products and other procedures. The best course of action is to seek out an experienced, board certified aesthetic dermatologist who can offer you a full range of options and address your unique concerns holistically.

Hello and thank you for your question!  I would recommend a consultation with a board certified provider who specializes in fillers.  To answer your question appropriately, the area must first be assessed.  The filler will have longer lasting effects dependent on the area and also the area should be treated to complete correction.  Typically, with complete treatment, you should experience results for up to 12 months.

Thank you for this question.  Restylane Defyne and Refyne are new members to the Dermal fillers by Galderma.  It really helps to expand the versatility of what we can do with non-surgical injectables:
Restylane Lyft, Silk and traditional Restylane - helps provide support to the facial tissues (e.g. cheeks with Lyft) or for precision softening (e.g. fine lines around the mouth).  
Restylane Refyne and Defyne - used in areas on the face that have motion and expression (e.g. nasolabial and marionette folds or accessory smile folds).  Refyne is typically used more superficially and Defyne at a deeper plane.
With Restylane Defyne (and Refine), the product is more elastic and integrates more into the tissues than their sister products (Restlyane, Lyft and Silk).  This allows for the product the stretch with facial expressions and in repose.  This provides for a more natural softening of the shadows associated with expression.  The results typically last a year, and if you decide to have another treatment sooner, you usually require less product to achieve similar results.

The duration of Restylane Defyne is 9-12 months in the cheeks, NLF, and marionette lines. It should be touched up about that time period. If several syringes are used in the same area, duration of the filler will be extended slightly. Excessive exercise can burn up all fillers.

The normal duration of 1 syringe of Restylane Defyne is 6 months. At full correction which is defined in the clinical studies as 3 syringes, the longevity can be up to 1 year.
