Restylane Defyne is a great new dermal filler that is designed to be more mobile and pliable in areas of the face with high mobility. Like all other fillers, it can lead to temporary swelling and bruising. The results are actually very good and can last up to 1 year.Good luck, Dr. ALDO
Restylane Defyne is a new hyaluronic acid filler that was specifically developed with XpresHAn Technology to deliver longer-lasting, more natural appearing results. After being treated by an experienced aesthetic dermatologist, the first thing you should notice is softer lines and a more refreshed, youthful looIn addition to this, there can be unwanted “after effects.” The most common side effects are redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site. The risk for this can be minimized by stopping any medication or supplements that thin the blood 10 days prior to treatment (do not stop any medication without first checking with your doctor). It can also help to avoid alcohol and salty foods the day before, of, and after treatment. Exercise should also be avoided 48 hours after treatment to prevent bruising. Your doctor will review less-common side effects and potential complications at the time of treatment. Make sure to seek out an experienced, board certified aesthetic dermatologist who can help you understand your options and safely perform the procedure.
Thank you for your question about Restylane Defyne. As with any HA filler injections, you can expect some short term side effects after Restylane Defyne injections. The most common are bruising at the site of the injection and mild swelling over the areas treated. Hyaluronic Acid Fillers, including Restylane Defyne are "hydrophilic" and attract and hold on to water, causing swelling. This is typically mild and only lasts for a few days. Your provider should also counsel you on post injection care. This includes, but is not limited to, avoiding exercise for 24 hours, avoidance of aspirin/ibuprofen/fish oils to avoid bruising, avoiding heat or sun exposure for 24 hours, avoid waxing or laser treatments to the area for 24 hours, and avoiding massage of the injection site. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Thank you for this question. Restylane Defyne and Refyne are new members to the Dermal fillers by Galderma. It really helps to expand the versatility of what we can do with non-surgical injectables:Botox/Dysport - soften dynamic expression (e.g. frown lines) and shape the face (e.g. masseter injections)Restylane Lyft, Silk and traditional Restylane - helps provide support to the facial tissues (e.g. cheeks with Lyft) or for precision softening (e.g. fine lines around the mouth). Restylane Refyne and Defyne - used in areas on the face that have motion and expression (e.g. nasolabial and marionette folds or accessory smile folds). Refyne is typically used more superficially and Defyne at a deeper plane. With Restylane Defyne (and Refine), the product is more elastic and integrates more into the tissues than their sister products (Restlyane, Lyft and Silk). This allows for the product the stretch with facial expressions and in repose. This provides for a more natural softening of the shadows associated with expression. I would recommend that you visit with an experienced injector who understands the nuances of the different products and can develop a customized approach to address your aesthetic goals.
