Click on the "Learn more" link, just below my response, or go here:FacialSurgery.com/RealSelf/RealSelf_Diana5502.htmlI made a computer morph of your nose, and an animation of the morph, to show the changes that are possible for your nose in truly expert hands.I brought the tip of your nose back closer to your face. The woman in the short video with this post had a strongly projecting nose that was brought back closer to her face. Then, I lowered the bridge to match the new position of the tip. When the tip comes back closer, it often makes a nose look droopier, so I also elevated the tip a bit.You should understand that the changes I demonstrated in the morph require advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle. Be sure to read the section in the "Learn more" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. You should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. Read that page very carefully. Most plastic surgeons are quite poor at this operation, and I believe my advice will go a long way toward keeping you safe.I'd love to hear what you think of the morph. Did it seem to address your main concerns?Your nose is also a good example of why computer imaging is mandatory in rhinoplasty. You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. When you see his goals, you'll know whether he has an eye for an attractive nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes an attractive nose. You'll also know whether the changes he proposes are enough to be meaningful to you, and whether he understands your wishes enough to address all of your priorities. But remember, you're not hiring him for his skills with the computer. The doctor must then show you his before and after photos to prove that he can actually accomplish what he draws on the computer. In your case in particular, you need to find a surgeon who understands all of the issues I mentioned, and how they fit together, and who can actually accomplish them in surgery.
Thanks for the question. With a rhinoplasty you can achieve a more delicate nose better harmonize with your other facial features. I Recommend you a board certified surgeon with experience in nose surgery. Kind regards
The nose shape can always be altered to be in harmony with the rest of the facial structures in terms length, projection and width. Your nose is slightly over-projected and it could have a softer look. Just from this view alone you should benefit from the surgery. However, an examination by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon specializing in the nose area may disclose more reasons for a nose surgery.
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a nasal tip deprojection to shorten the overall length of your nose. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotationof your tip to turn up your tip slightly and a conservative dorsal humpreduction. Make sure you specifically look atbefore and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performedby your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Irecommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plasticsurgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Hello:Thank you for your question. The decision to modify/enhance any feature of your face, especially your nose is a very personal decision. The only reason anyone should consider plastic surgery is because they want it. Not because someone else told them it was a good option for them. So, to begin answering your question, there is nothing wrong with you feeling of unhappiness with the front and side view of your nose.Rhinoplasty surgery can help a patient such as yourself achieve the following:Get rid of a hump or bump on your noseAchieve asymmetry or correct a crooked noseRefine your nasal tipReduce the overall size and width of your noseAdjust the tip of your nose upwardI would highly recommend that you seek out the expert advice of board certified facial plastic surgeons. Board certification in facial plastic surgery, especially rhinoplasty (nose job) surgery, is paramount to a superior post-operative result. You need a facial plastic surgeon that has the expertise and skill set to help you achieve the results you desire. I always advise my patients that having a unified vision with your surgeon will help to guarantee that end result.I wish you the best on your decision making process and have included a website link about rhinoplasty as well as a video that explains the different terms associated with nasal surgery.
