STD are not generally checked for preoperative workups. If you have an std though full disclosure to your surgeon is important for appropriate treatment. It won’t stop you from having the procedure but it’s important your surgeon knows to plan accordingly.Best
Depends on your age and health condition if you require any tests before rhinoplasty . For those under 50 and healthy, not taking any medications I do not order any tests. These are relatively short procedures (usually less than 2 hrs) and relatively small. If anybody requests tests they usually do not include STD but you should ask your doctor what kind of tests does he requireGood luck with your surgery . Make sure that you discuss your goals utilizing 3D Vectra imaging system - you want to have clear idea about surgery plan
It depends on what tests are being done - best to ask the doctor who ordered the tests about what is being checked.
Is best to ask your operative surgeon why they are performing a blood test on you the day before surgery?. In our practice we do not draw any work on patients for a rhinoplasty procedure unless patients have a specific medical condition that warrant that specific testing. When we do blood testing, is usually done three or four weeks ahead of time before the surgery, to sort out any medical issues that might need to be addressed prior to elective cosmetic surgery.
You will most likely have a CBC and Chem panel sent as part of the pre-operative blood testing. An STD or STI panel will likely not be sent. If you are concerned about STD or STI, go to an urgent care or your primary care doctor for testing (not your plastic surgeon). Best of luck.
Your surgeon will order blood test needed for you. This is usually determined by your health history and anesthesia protocol. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
