Hi Sherri! It looks like you have a wound healing delay with some skin necrosis on your peri-areolar incision. That is a touch problem, but with some good wound care it will heal. My recommendation would be to use an enzyme treatment like Santyl mixed with an antibiotic ointment (like bacitracin) on the dark areas that look like scab daily. Wash well in the shower with a wash cloth to remove the scab and when there is pink healthy tissue at the base, stop using the Santyl and use only antibiotic ointment until the wound is closed. The key to good wound healing is to keep the wound free from dry scab, keep it very clean, and keep it moist with antibiotic ointment. Once everything is healed, you may want a scar revision. Best of luck!
You are at the very beginning of your postop period. It is quite normal to have this situation. Pain and edema will continue. In my personal experience, it can take up to 18 months for the shape to settle after breast surgery. This totally depends on the person.
Dear Andie1100, Asymmetric swelling after breast surgery is very common, and expected. If you have other symptoms such as increased pain or bruising in that breast, it could be concerning. I would double check with your operating surgeon just to be safe. Good luck!
Thank you for your question! Timing for breast reduction surgery is really up to the patient, before or after menopause. Timing is really not an issue, but certainly, surgical outcomes will be optimized by an ideal BMI (body mass index). A board certified plastic surgeon should...
Asking questions so you can find other opinions is self-serving in my opinion as you are only looking for someone to back up your desires to resume activities sooner. Why the resistance to following your surgeon's advice? If you resume skydiving before 6 weeks, you are doing it at your own ri...
Generally, some sagging may occur 7-10 years after breast reduction/lift surgery. That's why I recommend you to have a breast lift operation again. If you want your breasts to be larger than their current volume, breast lift and implant operations can also be performed. I just don't think...
I am sorry to hear about the problem you are experiencing. Correction of the "webbing" would likely require a combination of liposuction as well as skin excision. I've attached an example of a similar situation to this response; you will find other similar examples on the same website. I hope ...
