I've read some Q&A answers on here talking about tissue health from O-shot. Can the prp be used in labiaplasty scars to help smooth them? I have scars around my vaginal opening that cause a scratching sensation to my partner.
Answer: PRP is effective Yes, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) can be a very effective tool for improving the healing, texture, and sensitivity of scar tissue—especially in delicate areas like the labia and vaginal opening. In your case, using PRP around labia or perineal scar tissue can help: Soften and remodel the scar, making it smoother to the touch Improve tissue pliability and hydration Stimulate collagen and blood flow, which can reduce irritation or that “scratching” sensation during intimacy We’ve had great success incorporating PRP into post-labiaplasty recovery and even years later in cases where patients are experiencing discomfort or aesthetic concerns from old scars. In some cases, we also combine PRP with topical peptides or fractional laser therapy to enhance results and promote optimal tissue regeneration. I’d be happy to take a closer look and let you know if PRP—or a combination approach—would be right for you. Warmly, Dr. David Ghozland Cosmetic Gynecologist & Intimate Wellness Expert

Answer: PRP can help with scars I think you are referring mostly to the use of PRP in your vaginal area to help with scarring. An O shot is two targeted shots, 1 in your clitoris and the other in your anterior wall of your vagina. The area you are talking about sounds more like your introitus ( the opening of your vagina). I am interested to know how long it has been since you had the labiaplasty and if you can feel a scratchy feeling when you palpate the area with your finger? You should not have any scratchy scars, if it was fairly recent I wonder if you don’t have some suture that has not dissolved sticking out, creating that scratchy feeling for your partner. If yes, then that is an easy fix, your surgeon can just pluck those undissolved suture out. If it is in fact your scar, then PRP can certainly help with scarring. Any practitioner who does the O shot should be able to use PRP to inject directly into the scar, just make sure you tell them what you really want. If they simply give you an O shot it will not likely be in the right area of your scarring. Good luck, I hope this has helped you.

Answer: O Shot for scarring Hello there, Thank you for your question. It would be difficult to answer this question accurately without seeing the tissue that is bothering you. PRP can help scars to heal and help break down tough scar tissue, but if you have rippling or extra tissue that could be removed, an RF needle may help with this.I suggest seeing your surgeon for an examination and further guidance. Hope that helps! Sincerely,Jennifer Adams MD, FRCSC
