My left breast looks like a torpedo, known as FrankenBoob, but my right breast looks perfect... is there anything I can do to speed up the process for my left breast to look normal?? I’m 8 days post op
Answer: Implant Settling Hi Stephie91 and thank you for your question. I like to refer to the immediate appearance of the breasts following a breast augmentation procedure as 'high, hard and ugly,' but frankenboob works too. It takes quite some time for patients to see what we as surgeons see in the operating room after surgery. Implants will take 3-4 months to settle completely and during this settling process (commonly referred to as 'drop and fluff') you will see that the shape of your breasts will continue to evolve and improve as your skin, muscle and breast tissue stretch to accommodate the additional volume of your new implants. Your experience is not uncommon and oftentimes patients will find that one side or one implant settles or recovers a little faster than the other. My best advice would be to be patient and refrain from judging your results until you have allowed enough time for your body to recover. Continue to follow up with your board certified operating surgeon for routine follow up and bring any concerns to his/her attention. I wish you all of the best and I hope that you find this helpful.

Answer: BA post op You are very early and it can take up to 3 months for implants to settle. What you are describing is very normal. As you continue to heal, you may be able to massage to help settle the implants. However, before doing so, please speak to your surgeon as he/she may have different post op instructions.Regards,

Answer: Breast Augmentation Healing Patterns Hello, It is not uncommon for the breasts to heal at different pace and often one settles into place sooner than the other. Within a few weeks they usually look and feel more symmetrical and natural. Consistent follow-up with your surgeon is essential to monitoring your progress. Warm regards, Dr. Pedy Ganchi Village Plastic Surgery

Answer: Breasts drop and fluff differently At 8 days you are about 5 percent settled, shaped softened, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author Phila., Pa.
