it felt like my throat was closing up, i ended up at the emergency room. they gave me benedryl and a steriod. im not sure if i should have it dissolved or will it be ok. has anyone else felt this? it was my first time with a filler
Answer: I had Volbella 2 days ago. I think I had an allergic reaction? Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your ER visit. It is difficult to offer definite advice without a bit more information as to the timing of your symptoms as if the volbella was the cause you should still be having symptoms. That said your injector is your best source of reassurance and information to help determine if the Volbella was the cause and should be dissolved for your safety. Hope this helps.

Answer: Allergic reaction to Volbella? I have not had a patient with an allergic reaction to Volbella. However, the lidocaine that is the part of the injection that numbs the area is another story. If you find that you feel better after the benedryl and steroids then no, I don't think that you need to dissolve the filler. I am so sorry that you experienced this. It must have been really frightening.

Volbella is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to enhance the volume, definition, and shape of the lips as well as to address lines on or around the lips. Volbella contains lidocaine to numb the area. Answer: Volbella reaction Hello. It sound like you had a pretty scary experience. I have not had a patient in my practice have an allergic reaction to fillers, but it is of utmost importance that you discuss with the doctor/nurse who injected you as to the cause of the reaction. If you are stable and not having any further symptoms, dissolving the product may not be necessary, however, this is a discussion you should have with a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist.
