Vomiting coffeee grounds is indicative of stomach bleeding. It should always be worked up rapidly by your internist and gastroenterologist. Don't delay seeing them.Best of luckDr T

Vomiting dried or old blood - otherwise known as coffee ground emesis - is worrisome of a stomach or GI ulcer. This needs to be quickly worked up by a primary care doctor or GI specialist. If it continues, go to the emergency department. Bleeding in the stomach and/or intestines can be a life threatening emergency.

If you have coffee grounds in your vomit, you may have an ulcer, and need to be seen by your MD and probably a gastroenterologist or go to the ER for evaluation.
