I have researching about after care from a tummytuck liposuction and brazilian buttlift. So far I have seen alot of women getting massages and using ultrasonic cavitation machines for after care. Is all of this really necessary? Does this make a difference in results?
Answer: Are any type of massages necessary after surgery? The surgeon who has done tummy tuck liposuction and the Brazilian butt-lift should be able to give the right answer for this question. It depends on the surgical protocol that the surgeon has followed, hence, the doctor who has done that procedure should be able to clarify your doubts. Do note that, it is not necessary to get a massage or ultrasound after tummy tuck liposuction and the Brazilian butt-lift. There will be a bit of swelling for the next few days after the surgery, which will gradually and naturally reduce over a period of time. Getting a massive or ultrasound will not have any impact on the results obtained from the surgery. However, studies do confirm that getting a lymphatic massage should help with swelling, but is it not compulsory. In hindsight, if a massage is not done properly, it could worsen the contour, which will increase the complexity of the condition. Do note that, massage is usually given to resolve issues like swelling and to reduce the scar. For BBL, it is generally not recommended to get any sort of massage, as it could put pressure on the grafted area and could completely alter the results. Ask your surgeon if a massage is necessary to post the procedure, if yes, then ask for the recommendations for the massage centers, hence, you can be sure that a massage will not have a negative impact on the procedure, if not a positive one.

Answer: Massage after surgery Lymphatic massage can help the swelling get better faster but I don't always recommend it. Most of my patients go without that as it is not necessary. Good luck!
