Is missed period after breast augmentation normal?

IS MISSED PERIOD AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION NORMAL? Hi everyone, well i am 5 weeks post op and still no period. did couple of pregnancy test they are negative. my last day of period was day before my surgery on Feb 25th. does anyone now if this is normal and how long should i wait before going to gynecologist? thank you for taking the time to answer my question!!!

It is not uncommon to have an irregular cycle or even miss a cycle after surgery.  The stress of surgery can cause an imbalance in the natural rhythm of hormones.  I still would discuss this with your gynecologist.

It is common for women to have their menstrual period thrown off following a surgical procedure. It is usually due to the stress the surgery causes on your body. If you are still concerned, you should consult with your gynecologist.

The stress from surgery can sometimes cause your menstrual cycle to be irregular. If you have not visited with your gynecologist for a pregnancy test, you may want to do so just to be reassured. Good luck.

Surgery can "throw off" your cycle a bit. No one knows for sure why this happens but any stress can do it.

It is not uncommon for an anesthetic and operation to interrupt the normal menstrual cycle. I would not discourage a call to your gyn at any time with this question.
