Hi. I got Juvederm Voluma injected in my lips. But because the muscle in my upper lip is split in two, they also injected it in my mucous membrane later, because it looked uneven. I’ve gotten it all removed, mostly, but I still have some amount left in the mucous membrane. Will it permanently damage it? Will it go away/break down naturally?

Thank you for sharing your question. HA fillers do tend to improve with time as they absorb water, soften, and mature. This allows for their full effect to be seen and maintained. Hope this helps.
I would recommend waiting 2 weeks to see if the swelling goes down. If the swelling continues after two weeks, you can dissolve the product with Hylenex. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
