Hi. I am a 48 year old male who is interested in facial rejuvenation especially peri orbital. I received my surgery plan. It has been recommend that I do the following Face lift Buccal fat removal Neck lift Upper n lower blepharoplasty Septorhinoplasty Do you think it is a good idea to have these procedures together? Is this normal? I know it soups be rough recovery wise but I'm prepared for that.
Answer: Face & neck lift, eyelid surgery, septorhinoplasty & buccal fat removal together? Hello @ramseymark, thank you for your question. I personally consider that facial rejuvenation is more than enough surgery for one surgery. Sometimes it can be combined with some surgeries that are not so extensive, but the ideal is that facial rejuvenation is done independently of the rest of the procedures. You can do it, but you must evaluate the surgical time well. Personally, I do not perform surgeries that are longer than 5 hours, and I always prefer to divide the procedures in case they are very extensive. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: All in one for only one recovery Yes! One procedure and one recovery! The downtime/ recovery phase may be a bit longer while doing them all at once. If you go to a skilled surgeon who specializes in all of those procedures, it is recommended to do it all at once and get it out of the way!

Answer: I would not recommend it Hello and thank you for your question. Generally, your risk for complications increases after your surgery length exceeds 4.5-5 hours. Although there are exceptions, it takes most surgeons longer than that amount of time to perform all the many procedures you have listed. Therefore, it is possible to do all these procedures together during one surgery, but given the unnecessarily increased risk for complications in these elective procedures, I would not recommend it. The safer option would be to stage these into 2 or 3 separate surgeries to shorten the operative time for each surgery. Hope this helps! Best, Dr. Donald Groves Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Surgery I would be very cautious about removing buccal fat. As we age, we lose fat in our face. Removing fat now will age you more later. I would suggest doing the nose surgery separate and not with the blepharoplasty.

Answer: No problem This is a common combination of procedures for us to do at the same time. The procedures together should take 5 hours or so by an experienced surgeon.
