Can I do rhinoplasty 1 year later after a minor Bellafill occlusion on nose bridge?

hello, i had bellafill injected in nose bridge last year i ran into an occlusion issue which has been treated and skin is fine. But i want to do rhinoplasty now is it ok to proceed?

Thank you for your question. It probably affects many prospective patients these days is injectable filler treatment is very common.

The occlusion events treated promptly have no long-term consequences on the circulation in the skin and therefore the ability to carry out successful rhinoplasty interventions.

You should raise this point with your surgeon of choice but it is unlikely that it would be a source of concern.

You are considering rhinoplasty surgery, when you consult with your specialists, please bring a picture of what your nose looked like after the minor occlusion. If the area of skin on your nose that was affected was small, and if there was no necrosis, you may be okay, depending on your examination. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Hello! Thank you for your question.It is of course possible to perform rhinoplasty surgery after having injections on the nose. Even if some filler is still in the nose, it can even be dissolved during the surgery.But since you had an occlusion, it would be better if you can provide some photos so I can evaluate properly.Best regards!

It should be ok to have the rhinoplasty surgery if your skin is healthy, and the occlusion incident you had has been treated. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you first and discuss your goals from the surgery.

You are completely fine to proceed with formal rhinoplasty.  Bellafill is not one of the products I would have used for your liquid rhinoplasty as it is not easily reversible due to the significant longevity of the product.  Having said that, an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon should be able to remove he majority if not all of the product during your formal rhinoplasty procedure.
