Dr. Henstrom was an absolute professional with our son. He made him feel very comfortable and confident that he was in good hands. We very much appreciate the opportunity to work and get to know Doug and recommend his practice to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon.
Today marks 1 year since I got my surgery done!! I was waiting 1 year post op from my septoplasty/rhinoplasty to post a review just to be honest and wait for results to keep settling. Dr. Henstrom & Utah Facial plastics are awesome! Was there a long time ago to do nose filler to try to fill in my nose hump I had. Dr. Henstrom advised me that it wouldn’t make a big difference, and that I should get surgery but I didn’t listen then. Couple years later I realized I’m ready for the surgery. I had a deviated septum on my left side of my nose, making it a little hard to breathe. So it was a part cosmetic and medical surgery. It was paid for the medical side on my insurance and then the cosmetic portion I paid for. I was stoked because I never liked my nose since I was a teenager. I had a hump & when I was little I ran into a basketball metal pole and hit my nose lol. I also hit it again years later, so we think that’s what kinda made it crooked and deviated. You’ll see in the photos. I was in good care and trusted Dr Henstrom as I saw him years before I got the surgery done. He has a gentle hand and made my nose look so natural! Most people don’t even realize I got it done! I love my new nose and don’t regret any of the discomfort of recovery from post surgery came with. I can also breathe better of course! He addressed all my concerns and questions and he assured me he wouldn’t give me a Michael Jackson nose which I was scared of.. I didn’t want my new nose to make me look completely different either. Dr. Henstrom and his team definitely nailed it! I’m so happy with my results, and I’m very glad I went with him locally instead of going to Mexico after all.
Dr. Henstrom knows exactly how to give you the best nose for YOUR face. Some people have a one size fits all mold, not him. All of his work is incredibly natural yet produces drastic results. It’s been two years and I am so thankful!! Exactly what I wanted and I was willing to accept that noses still settle and bend after surgery. I can’t believe I am so lucky and free from my overwhelming self-consciousness. I saw my pics on here and wanted to share my experience.
2 weeks post op and I'm in love! I had a bump On my nose and the tip didn't have any support, which caused my nose to droop when I smiled. But now my nose is perfect. Still swollen but it looks amazing. It's exactly what I wanted. I recommend for sure, Thank you dr henstrom!
My experience with Dr. Henstrom was very, very good. I would recommend him to all of my friends. He was very personable, listened to my concerns and gave me options for my hair loss problem, which developed after a serious health issue. He helped me decide which procedure would be best for me and explained in detail what I could expect. On the day of the procedure he made sure I was totally comfortable and relaxed. We decided on injection therapy which went very well. It took me several months to see results, but my hair DID GROW BACK. I am older and was told by another doctor that my hair would not grow back. But my experience turned out to be amazing and I will always be grateful that I went to Dr. Henstrom.
I began looking into hair restoration and read every article I could get my hands on, then began my search for a doctor. I researched hair restoration doctor’s in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada & Utah and this included face-to-face interviews. I chose Dr. Henstrom with UFP Hair Restoration, he answered all of my questions and took the time to explain the procedure, and understood my expectations for results. I scheduled my hair restoration and Dr. Henstrom and his staff was excellent. I was totally amazed at the level of service his team provided. I could not have received a higher level of service than what was given at Utah Facial Plastics and the results have exceeded my expectations. It has only been 4 months and my hair already looks great, over the next 6 to 9 months it will only get better.
Dr. Henstrom explained to me in great detail why my ears were shaped the way they were, which I really appreciated. He made my surgery so easy and seamless, and the results are even better than I expected them to be. I now have confidence in myself that I’ve been wanting since I was a young girl. Thank you so much!
Dr. Henstrom has mastered the art of a subtle rhinoplasty. By balancing facial features to compliment one another and creating facial symmetry, his technique provides an overall more attractive aesthetic to enhance one's appearance without looking over done. His work is not only beautiful but also functional and helped my breathing tremendously. I couldn't be happier with the natural looking result he was able to achieve.
Dr. Henstrom did a great job on my otoplasty. I was so happy with the results. My ears are still mine and not pinned flat to my head. I was worried that they were going to look weird, but they make me so happy. I feel so confident and I wear my hair up all the time. I got my ears pierced and am excited to do my hair each morning without worrying about how I will cover my ears. Dr. Henstrom provided just enough follow-up appointments to explain how I was healing and gave me clear instructions on how to care for my ears while they healed. I could not be happier that I had this surgery done. It is a gift of a lifetime.
Dr Henstrom is amazing. My nose was large, and drooping. I let him know what I wanted and left it to him and it turned out better than I imagined. I’m only one week post op and even with all the swelling still I am so happy! He truly is an artist. I love that he only works on and specializes in facial plastic surgery rather than the whole body. Updated on 26 Apr 2021: Before picture with large nose and drooping due to loss of cartilage in tip. After is 3 weeks post op and healing great. Still some swelling, but seems to be healing great. I love my new profile and it will continue to define
Yes, that is the general consensus and certainly recommended for best and longest lasting results. Look at it this way, after having gone through a hair transplant procedure, and all that it entails, you will want to do everything you can to maintain the hair you have. This is true whether it's the natural hair or transplanted hair. The finasteride will certainly have more effect on the hair that is more predisposed to loss, but newly grafted hair can benefit.Sincerely,Dr. Doug Henstrom, Utah Facial Plastics
While not an absolute contraindication, blood thinners can make a hair transplant more difficult because of the increased bleeding. A case like yours can be undertaken safely, especially if the number of grafts needed is relatively low. Excessive bleeding on the scalp at the time of transplant will certainly slow the process down, and take longer, but it can be done. One of the other considerations for you is your age, overall goals, and possible expected hair loss based on family history. Happy to discuss further if your interested.Sincerely,Dr. Doug Henstrom, Utah Facial Plastics
It is generally recommended to stop oral Minoxidil at least a week before your hair transplant and it's mainly due to the fact that it can increase blood flow to the scalp that can cause increased bleeding at the time of the procedure. While it's not absolutely required to stop it, and the procedure can certainly be done with people on it, we routinely have our patients stop using it for that reason. Your surgeon may have different experience with patients on minoxidil at the time of their transplant than myself, but not uncommon to stop it. The good news is that the half life of minoxidil is very short and can get out of your system very quickly.Good luck with your hair transplant.Dr. Doug Henstrom
Yes, hair transplant would be a possibility for you to try to balance and achieve better symmetry in the hairline. A thorough consultation with a hair transplant specialist is warranted, and a discussion of hair health (loss, changes in the hairline, family history and expectations of hair loss) is important to finalize any decision regarding potential hair transplant, especially in younger patients such as yourself. Sincerely, Dr. Doug Henstrom,
In my opinion it would be fine to move forward with other facial surgery that you've outlined at this point. While the nose is still healing, it is stable and your face itself is ready. Of course it is important that the surgeon who is performing the facial surgery is aware of your previous rhinoplasty and where you are in the healing process, so that all steps necessary are taken to protect your nose during the surgery on the rest of your face. All the best, Dr. Doug Henstrom, Utah Facial Plastics
