Adding lipo to tummy tuck for best results after weight loss from bariatric surgery? (photos)

I would add some liposuction to your hips, back and upper abdomen at the same
time as your TT if you are healthy and do not have any risks for a blood clot.
Discuss this with your plastic surgeon and be sure to have a thorough evaluation with your
primary care before the surgery to be sure you are in good health.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You are a great candidate for 360 Lipo, TT and bra line upper back lift. This will allow for maximal fat removal and maximal skin resection. It would be ideal to break these up into two stages but I understand why you may not want to.

Thank you for your questions and photos. From your photo, you would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck with 360 liposuction. In one of your photos you are pointing out the spot next to your breast/underarm area. The lateral chest is not usually included with 360 liposuction areas. It can be done at the same time. You just want to make sure your surgeon is aware that you would like to address your bilateral lateral chest as well. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the options that best address your goals. Hello @Cheerful260279 thank you for your question and showing your pictures. I suggest you have combine treatment tummy tuck and liposculture. Each procedure serves a different purpose, a tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and strengthens the abdominal muscles, in which there is abdominal lipolysis, abdominal diastasis repair, skin removal with umbilical reconstruction depending on each case. On the other hand liposculture we take out fat from all parts of the body to make it more harmonious. The two procedures combine will give you the best results. Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your abdomen after a 120 pound weight loss after having bariatric surgery in 2018. I would definitely suggest an extended tummy tuck. A mini tummy tuck or regular tummy tuck will not address your entire abdomen. The incision needs to go from as far back as possible underneath the abdominal panus and across the upper pubic region or mons. During your extended tummy tuck, the mons should be lifted and reduced, and the excess skin and fat from above the mons to at least above the belly button should be removed. The rectus abdominus muscle should be plicated. I would also suggest liposuction of the superior iliac crest or the love handles. This will eliminate any residual fat. In regards to the bra line back fat, you did not submit good pictures of the back. However, the options range from liposuction of the back to a horizontal or even vertical torsoplasty. If you wish to go to the liposuction route, I would definitely suggest the VASER liposuction machine. This is the best machine for back liposuction. If you have excess skin of the back, I would suggest either an incision from the armpit down your sides to eliminate the excess skin. Alternatively, if you have a significant amount of back skin, I would suggest a horizontal torsoplasty where the incision goes across your back, underneath the bra strap line. Based on your photos, you appear to be a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. This can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural with minimal scarring on the exterior. Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flatter and firmer abdominal contour and profile.
Liposuction of upper abdomen and flanks would allow to create a more defined waistline and hourglass shape.
I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. Based on your photos I would recommend liposuction to the flanks and back as well as a tummy tuck. This will give you a beautiful sculpted look and remove the excess tissue. Hello and congratulations on your weight loss! After significant weight loss, the biggest need during body contouring procedures is skin excision which appears to be the case for you. However, in regards to your abdomen it does appear as though you have some fullness of your flanks that could be addressed with liposuction in addition to an extended abdominoplasty. Without a photo from the back to be certain, the best way is to pinch the tissue to assess the thickness during your examination. Also, it is important to discuss all the expected incision locations and lengths as well as liposuction sites to compare the differences between your consultation recommendations.
