Can I use silicone sheets even if I still have dissolvable sutures poking out? (photos)

If you have sutures that are extruding or "spitting", your surgeon should evaluate you. Some plastic surgeons use silicone sheeting therapeutically (myself included), and others use it prophylactically. Please see your plastic surgeon and discuss this with him or her. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your photograph.  You can certainly use silicone sheets to assist with your scar management and I would recommend seeing your surgeon for removal of the remaining stitch.  If this suture continues to irritate it may impact your very good scar result.  Hope this helps.

It appears you would be fine to begin the use of silicone sheeting at this point. However if you have concerns please address those to your surgeons office.

You may use the silicone sheets. However, if the adhesive bothers your stich, you might like to try and different scar product like Mederma or Scar Guard. If you have any specific questions, please ask your surgeon.

I would not use this silicone strips as long as there is suture material poking out of the skin.  If you have dissolvable sutures still present see your plastic surgeon to remove them.
