I'm a waitress, can I go to work 5 days after my surgery?

There are activities you as a waitress will have to do, such as wiping down tables, that you aren't going to be able to do right away. For the first 2 weeks using your upper body could cause bleeding. Your surgeon will have specific instructions for you, but typically time off will be 3 days to return to desk jobs, 2-3 weeks for moderate work and 6-8 weeks for really physical work.

Recovery is very important to a good outcome. Depending on your specific duties you may need more than just a few days off at work. I would recommend discussing your specific expectations at work with your plastic surgeon to determine what is the best timing for  you to return to work.

This is certainly a question to ask of your plastic surgeon, as time to resume full activities varies with technique used.  Generally however five days after breast augmention is probably too soon to begin a strenuous job such as waitressing, and I do not recommend it, unless you are able to perform light duties only.

I highly recommend that you take at least 10 days and preferably 2 weeks off of waitressing after your breast augmentation. You simply should not be lifting heavy trays and to do so could cause displacement, bleeding and other complications of your implant.  Of course follow your plastic surgeon's advice.
