I'm sorry to hear of all the issues you are having. More information and possible testing is needed to know what is occurring. It's probably best to start with your PCP. You may be referred to seeing a GI specialist for diagnosis and treatment.

Having a C-section does not create muscle separation. Pregnancy does.

Unless you had a midline incision this C-section went nowhere near your bellybutton. Abdominal pain can be serious and requires a competent medical work up.

Going to the emergency room was appropriate because abdominal pain can be an emergency.

Things that can cause mid abdominal pain include gallstones, peptic ulcer disease or reflux, appendicitis, GYN conditions like ectopic pregnancies and ovarian cysts, diverticulitis, coronary artery disease and a long list of other conditions.

Urinary tract infections can become recurrent so make sure that it is not happening.

I suggest you start with a work up from your primary care doctor and take it from there.

It doesn’t sound like your problem is plastic surgery related.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Unfortunately I am unable to make a diagnosis based on your history alone.Periumbilical pain may be caused by gastroenteritis, appendicitis, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, umbilical hernia, small bowel obstruction, aortic aneurysm, or mesenteric ischemia.A thorough history and physical examination must be performed. One must rule out the presence of an episodically incarcerated hernia as the cause of your pain. You may require MRI imaging studies to better define the area involved. A broad diastasis recti, or anterior abdominal muscle separation, may rarely cause low back pain, postural abnormalities, and urinary tract or bowel problems.You may consider an evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon as well as a board certified general surgeon to get the answers to your question.Best wishes...
