I'm a month post op and my incisions looked nice after first but now in some spots they look infected and spew thr sutures. My surgeon gave me a kit with tweezers to dig the sutures out and microbial gauze to bandaid over them. My question is, this has only happened on the right breast, should I be expecting for it to be rejected on all the incisions?
Answer: Suture spitting Sometimes absorbable sutures that a superficial emerge from the skin and cause issues like you describe. Often local wound care is all that needs to be performed.

Answer: Rejecting sutures Sometimes this happens, seems especially common in this part of the breast after a reduction. Good news is that it is a self limited process as these sutures are dissolvable and your body trying to dissolve them is what causes the reaction. These sutures have knots and it may be hard for you to remove them. Most of the sutures dissolve in 6 wks. It is important to cover the area so it does not get infected. I think that some 1% hydrocortisone cream also helps. Hang in there, this won't last much longer.
