Can I get a breast reduction for size 10e breasts?

Question

i weigh around 52 kilos and have quite a small frame. my breasts constantly weigh me down and i have to sleep with a bra on because it is so uncomfortable. i have talked to a few doctors and they practically laughed even though i told them it causes me heaps of back and neck pain. i don't think i will get it covered by insurance although i need it, but i can't afford to pay for it myself.

There is a Medicare Item number for breast reduction and if you have private insurance you will be covered by most insurance companies provided your plan includes this. The medicare item number is 45520 x 2 and you should call you insurer and find out if you are covered.Hope this helps

The discomfort and associated symptoms are capped off by the affect on self esteem. So I have tremendous empathy for your situation.From what I can tell, you would benefit from a breast reduction. Speak to your private Health Fund to check if you have cover for this procedure. You will still have a gap for surgical fees. Of course, you need to consult face-to-face with a Plastic Surgeon so that you can obtain an accurate assessment, have the opportunity to discuss with him your problems and concerns, and then your Plastic Surgeon can discuss with you the options that are appropriate for you.I wish you well in your journey.
