Hello, after a tummy tuck is pretty common to experience some kind of numbness in both lower quadrants for around 6 months. I've never seen in my practice such numbness to take place in genitals or clitoris. Best wishes.
Hello, and thank you for this question. Yes many patients do experience some numbness following their procedure but it is not always permanent. Most patients do not have numbness below the area of their scars. In many instances it may take a year to 1.5 years for the numbness to fully improve. I would recommend you discuss this with a qualified board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck with this decision.
After a tummy tuck it us typical to lose feeling in a small part of the abdominal skin just above the scar. Numbness in those other areas I have not encountered.
You will get some area of numbness after a tummy tuck. This is typically a "horse-shoe" pattern that starts at your belly button and goes down to your waist where the scar is in the middle. Sometimes this area can regain sensitivity but may take years as nerves are very slow to regenerate. After performing 100's of tummy tucks, I've never seen anyone get numbness below this area particularly in the genitals. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz
Virtually all patient who undergo full tummy tuck will have some reduced sensation in a circle between the umbilicus (belly button) and the central aspect of the lower abdominal scar. You will not experience a loss of genital sensation.
Thank you for your question. The numbness is usually above the incision. I have not seen numbness in genital area in my experience after TT.
Almost everyone experiences numbness variably between their belly button and the tummy tuck cut but not below. This also occurs with a C-section.

Hi, thanks for your question. Post-operative pain is a serious matter for your doctor to manage. It is different for every patient. Some will experience no pain at all while others will have discomfort that your doctor must anticipate to give you the best post-op period. Make sure you have a...
If you have that large of an abdominal wall hernia I would suggest you work with your General Surgeon to see what would be the best treatment option for you. I doubt you would need an Abdominoplasty unless you suffer from lax skin as well. If your Gen Surgeon feels your hernias can...
