Voluma injected too deep. Cannot dissolve it?

I'm sorry that you are upset about your recent injection experience. It is possible that the hyaluronidase is simply not being injected in the correct location, but Voluma tends to require multiple rounds of injection to dissolve the product. Deep injection of Voluma over the bone is relatively common, in my experience, so if you feel uncomfortable with your current injector, I would seek a second opinion from an experienced practitioner who may suggest an alternative approach. And keep in mind, that no matter what, the Voluma will eventually dissipate. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question and I am sorry that your results have not been what you anticipated.  Voluma is designed to be placed deep within the face, just above a patient's bone and is highly cross linked making it difficult to dissolve with hyaluronidase.  That said Voluma can be removed but often requires intimate knowledge of where the filler was placed as well as repeated treatments of Vitrase.  See a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation, they should be able to help return you to your pre injection appearance.

Voluma should respond to hyaluronidase, but it may take additional treatments.  Voluma is more resistant to hyaluronidase, but it should respond.  It's still only two months post injection and since the area has been treated with both Voluma and hyaluronidase you may also be experiencing swelling and edema.  If this is the case try icing the area.  In some instances patients respond to a very dilute steroid injection into the swelling and/or a very small amount of oral diuretic.  Over time the Voluma will decrease and your face will go back to normal.
