Hi, I am wondering which is more effective for mild lax skin between the eyelid and eyebrow. I have already tried botox, Ultherapy, and Thermismooth, NONE of them were effective for lax skin in that area. I do not have set surface wrinkles yet, so CO2 lasers were also ineffective. I only have the beginning of lax skin/hooding, visible when making expressions/smiling. Is Thermismooth still considered more effective than Thermage CPT for lax skin around eyes and hooding? Thank you!!

Answer: ThermiSmooth For Eyes In my practice we utilize ThermiSmooth for laxity and wrinkles around the area. We've had success with this technology for mild to moderate cases of eyelid hooding. Multiple treatments are required and results continue to improve over 6 months following treatment. Depending on the extent of hooding, surgical correction may be required. Before you spend another dollar on treatments I would recommend consulting with a board-certified physician who can detail the options based on your specific case. Best of luck! Dr. McCune

Answer: Your eyes have gone through a lot, what did they do to you?! I see you have tried multiple treatment modalities. Without seeing photos or assessing you in person and determining the severity of your skin laxity I can't recommend anything. I use the ThermiSmooth and it is very effective on skin laxity in that area. The RF heating is precise and well controlled for addressing skin laxity. Have you had the 4 treatments and if so, how long apart? How long have you had the "hooding" as you call it? You also state you don't have "surface wrinkles yet" so I'm assuming you're still young or at least have healthy skin and not too much wear and tear. And you only get the "hooding" when you smile. Can it be that's just how your face normally looks when you smile? If you did all those treatments for "mild lax skin" and nothing happened then that might tell you something. Before you spend another dollar on yet another treatment I would go to a reliable physician who will work with you on realistic goals and honest truths like maybe you don't need anything at all.
