Are thermage results permanent?

I keep reading that Thermage lasts about 2 years, indicating it is not reversing aging in any way, it's just simply temporarily masking aging like botox does. Does Thermage reverse aging, and then of course the aging process continues naturally? Or, is Thermage a temporary tightening, and when it wears off your face goes back to how it originally appeared?

Hi Anna B,Thank you for your questions. Thermage is essentially radio-frequency delivered to specific layers of your skin to stimulate collagen and provide a natural firming/tightening in the area treated (i.e., face/abdomen/arms..etc). As we continue to age, we stop producing as much collagen as we did in our younger years. Further, certain environmental factors or habits we have actually break down collagen further. Therefore, there is a continuous need to stimulate collagen with treatments such as Thermage in order to continuously benefit. There is nothing that exists to reverse aging permanently. It is much like going to the gym. Once you stop your exercise regimen, you will no longer enjoy the benefits it has on your body.
