Thank you for your question. Thermage should be safe to use in a patient who has a history of vitiligo. There are no reports of worsening of vitiligo following noninvasive skin tightening treatment using a radiofrequency device
Thermage is an outstanding radiofrequency device to tighten the skin. It is entirely safe for patients with vitiligo and will not have an interaction. Please consult an expert in Thermage for the best skin tightening results. Best, Dr. Green
Thermage is a radiofrequency, non light, device and is safe on patients with a personal history or family history of vitiligo. Other radiofrequency devices for tightening include Profound radiofrequency and Titan. Avoid any light device including lasers and photofacial or Intense and Broad Band light as these may worsen vitiligo or stimulate the emergence of vitiligo. Be sure to see a physician familiar with these devices as well as with vitiligo.
